Counseling is personal. Here's who you'll be trusting with your story, and why they do this work.

With over 20 years of experience in the mental health and developmental disabilities field, Matthew is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges with compassion, respect, and hope. He believes healing begins with a trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change.
Matthew works with children, adolescents, adults, and couples, providing treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, and other emotional and behavioral challenges. As an EMDR-trained therapist, he integrates trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches to help clients process difficult experiences, build resilience, and move toward lasting healing.
Matthew has extensive experience supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of roles, including Supported Employment Specialist, Residential Support Professional, and Psychology Associate, giving him a unique understanding of the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities across the lifespan.
As a Psychology Associate, Matthew collaborated with interdisciplinary teams to develop and review Behavior Support Plans, conducted behavioral assessments, and trained direct support professionals in implementing positive behavioral interventions and trauma-informed care. His experience allows him to provide thoughtful, individualized support while recognizing each person's strengths, abilities, and potential.
Matthew has also presented on Trauma-Informed Care, reflecting his commitment to professional education and advocacy for compassionate, person-centered services. In addition to his clinical practice, he is a Maryland Board-Approved Clinical Supervisor, mentoring and supervising Licensed Graduate Professional Counselors (LGPCs) as they develop their clinical skills and confidence.
Matthew is passionate about helping people overcome obstacles, build resilience, and discover hope. Whether working with a child, an adult, a couple, or an individual with IDD, he strives to provide a safe, welcoming environment where clients feel valued, understood, and supported every step of the way.
"I believe every person has unique strengths and the capacity for growth. My goal is to help clients feel empowered, supported, and equipped with the tools they need to build healthier, more fulfilling lives."
Jacqueline has extensive knowledge and experience in the social services field. Over the past twenty years, she has dedicated herself to providing excellent support and advocacy to individuals of all ages who are facing challenges in their lives.
In her time working as a Disability Examiner, she gained an invaluable body of knowledge and developed the skills needed to understand and navigate the Social Security Disability system. She witnessed the frustrations many claimants face in the application process due to the complex nature of the system.
She has also experienced the difficulties of living as a patient with an invisible illness. It is her hope that despite her medical struggles, she can continue to make a difference and increase awareness for those who suffer in silence with their own disability and illness.

"We emphasize the value of each individual and empower people to live happier, more fulfilling lives."
That belief shapes everything at Our Place, from how sessions feel to the space itself. Therapy here is a partnership: we want to work with you to explore the issues that feel like speed bumps, or even roadblocks, in your daily life.
Reaching out is an easy first step. No pressure, no commitment, just a conversation about what you need.
